Union Songs

Australia's Recent History

A Song by Steve Quinn©Steve Quinn 2008

I heard the coories weeping
Angered by their plight
The police had stole their children
And rode off in the night

I saw the union members
Holding firm the line
Howard and his cronies
Declaring strikes a crime

I saw Australian farmers
Thrown from their land
The multi-nationals laughing
They couldn't give a damn

I saw the people marching
What a mighty sight
The Whites have said we’re sorry
And with the Blacks unite

The factory gates are open
The police and dogs are gone
And now that we're together
We shall carry on
