Celebrate the Strength: The TWU anthem

A Song by Lachlan Hurse and Sue Monk©Lachlan Hurse and Sue Monk 2006

- [play]

From dusty roads, from horse and dray,
To rigs on busy freeways,
Our history tells a story
of struggle hard and long.
Our forebears fought for dignity,
A vision we hold today,
And the right to a better working life
Their courage we'll not betray.
Through the victories we have won,
Through the battles we have proven,
We can celebrate the strength
Of the Transport Workers' Union.
When transport workers move as one,
And raise our voice in union,
The bounty of our labour
Will be denied to none.
From city streets to town and bush,
From airport to wharf and yard,
From where we've come and the days ahead,
Our unity we guard.
Through the victories we have won,
Through the battles we have proven,
We can celebrate the strength
Of the Transport Workers' Union.
